4 comfortable fabrics for this scorching SUMMER

The fabric you choose during summer makes a big difference in your appearance and comfy. We bring you a list of perfect picks!

Don’t misinterpret silk to be a fabric meant only for winters. Silk blends, a lighter and softer version of silk made from natural fiber is considered to be an ideal summer fabric. Unlike raw or pure silk, it doesn’t stick to the body making you sweat or feel sticky. Sport a flowing silk blend dress for an evening outing. Pair it with minimal jewelry, as too much of it can make your skin itch.

When the heat becomes too much to bear, khadi comes to your rescue. The Mahatma yarn has taken the fashion world by storm. Give a modern touch to your khadi outfit by wearing a pair of khadi shorts or a shrug.

When it comes to summer wear, cotton seems to be the best option. The best thing about cotton is it makes you feel comfortable even when it is very humid. It easily absorbs the sweat from your body and helps your skin breathe making you feel cool. Pairing a cotton kurta with a pair of palazzo pants will make for a simple yet interesting look.

Linen is one of the best summer fabrics known for being the lightest of all. It is comfortable and has sweat absorbing properties. The main benefit of wearing linen during summer is that it allows easy air flow and reflects heat better. Linen saris in shades of pink, grey and lavender can add style to your evening wear. A linen sari with a quarter sleeve blouse in a slightly darker shade with a tight bun or a hairband for a perfect summer look. Opt for smart linen trousers and dresses as work-wear to make that commute to work slightly easy.

Be Relaxed with Khesh in this SUMMER

Khesh is a new kind of designer saree made with some old sarees in a new concept. Basically originating from Birbhum district of West Bengal, it is now available to the all the places of Bengal.

Because of the tradition of Khesh weaving in Birbhum in the last many years, a market for old sarees has come up in some nominated places of Birbhum. The Weavers bought old saress in bulk or else they have their own suppliers who collect old saress from the village and wash them ready to sell. Many other weavers depend on householders to give them sarees in return of something essential households items.

The Khesh weaving process is simple. The warp is with new yarn and the weft is with strips of thin cloth obtained by tearing old sarees length wise. First a old saree is picked, washed, cleaned. Then the saree or the cloth is separated thread by thread and then kept along with the other yarn kept for to weave a new saree. As the new saree is being weaved the old pieces are picked up randomly and it makes a beautiful design. Its given a symmetry. Then the sarees are given touch of either fabric paints or applique to make it more appealing. It is total handloom saree and 100% cotton. It is ideal for daily use. It can be home washed.

It is hereby mention that the old sarees have to be of cotton in order that they tear easily. Experiments using synthetic sarees have also been undertaken, since the propensity to wear synthetic sarees is on the rise even in villages. But the problem with synthetic sarees is that they cannot be torn by hand and have to be cut by scissors. This increases the time for this process and therefore the cost.

Art Hut also brought some colorful and gorgeous design in Khesh based on Tant in vibrant colour and design. it is best sarees in Summer to wear and ladies get more pleasure wearing this saree in this scorching heat. Need your feedback regarding our collections of Khesh.

Is it All About The Pink Cocoa? Tanya Burr Lipstick Review

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know I’m a big fan of Tanya Burr Cosmetics. Her eye shadow palette in Birthday Suit is one of my go-to everyday palettes. When she launched her lipsticks last year there was one colour in particular I had my eye on, but it was never in stock at my local Superdrug.. until now!

I’ve finally got my hands on Pink Cocoa (£6.99, Superdrug) – true to its name it’s a gorgeous pinky brown nude toned lipstick. It’s perfect for everyday wear along with being the perfect lipstick to accompany a glam smokey eye for a night out. The packaging of this gives out strong YSL vibes. It’s a beautiful lipstick to have on show thanks to the intense gorgeous gold packaging.

The lipstick I think is on par with most other high street lipsticks, at an affordable £6.99…

Classic Movie Of The Week: Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949)

Starring: Dennis Price, Alec Guiness, Valerie Hobson

Director: Robert Hamer

Louis Mazzini (Price) is the son of a disinherited woman and an Italian opera singer. Raised knowing that he’s the 8th in line for a Dukedom, he plots to kill everyone in the way of his succession after his mother is denied the rights to be buried in the family plot.

It’s a comedy of manners from the golden era of the famous Ealing Studios, and sends up the culture of class snobbery and the airs people put on, as well as the superficiality of the upper classes. The victims in the D’Ascoyne family are all played by Alec Guiness, in masterful turns as different types and personalities, with hilarious aplomb. It’s hard to feel sorry for the dispatched, and yet Mazzini is hardly a sympathetic character himself, with his romantic entanglement with two women, one wealthy and…

The Grass is not Always Greener

I came across the current news all over the internet, about a certain popular American Fashion Blogger – Shaniqua Jordan, being arrested and charged with credit card fraud! She was allegedly shopping with her customers credit cards (she has an online jewellery store); buying luxury fashion items of about $37,000, and showing them off on Instagram. Shaniqua Jordan is known for her love for high-end designer items and these items usually keep her fans increasing and followers talking.

I can see how Shaniqua Jordan would have been tempted to do what she has been accused of doing. As an insider, I see it everyday on social media and it is quite sad to see the amount of pressure many fashion bloggers put on themselves to look the part and it is really not worth the stress! Fashion Blogging isn’t all about styling expensive pieces. There is a lot more…

A rhapsody of ethnicity -The Library of Sarees

Library – when the word comes to our mind, a world of books pops up in front of our eyes but library is a collection of sources, from where we can enrich ourselves. It is not all about books only but library can be for anything related to our daily life where variety in lifestyle will not be a barrier to the middle class economic group. Oh its our wish…..

When we talk about reading, it is impossible for anyone to purchase all the books to read. So to enrich your knowledge, Library is the place which gives us the opportunity to feel the essence and to assimilate the immense domain of books. Library is a concept which was started for thinking of books but it is such a unique concept which should not be restricted to any particular subject or any specific interest. It should be a treasure house and the treasure can be anything. The main concept of library is to make people facilitate for having the things which can’t be possible to purchase every time but without purchasing they can enjoy those, they can have the pleasure of their excellence.

Taking this distinctive concept we have already added different other thoughts and now we have film libraries, digital libraries and many more. So why the art and craft are standing one step back? We can also do the revolution in the field of art.

India is a mine of artistry. Artists are reflecting their creativity in their works. But how many of us can experience them? We may buy a few. But is it enough to feel the essence completely? If we create a library, we can have them all in exchange for a little.

Art Hut is trying to take an initiative as a small part of this vast concept. We have thought to initiate the idea and have a library of our own products. We will start with our own handcrafted Sarees. We are going to have our own ”Saree Library”, where no one is bound to purchase but one can come, borrow and experience our products in exchange of a small amount for a certain time, return us and can take another one. Library is enriching us with books and knowledge from a long ago, gradually the idea is taken to other fields. Now it’s the time to implement it in the art world as well as in the fashion world. It’s time to make our Fashion Library. But really we need your feedback about the conception, need to know the viability of the project of our “Saree Library”.

Please visit our page of Art Hut in face book to check our collection and give us your feedback that how one dress can meet the expectation of hundreds.
